I disagree. "12 hours from when you are making the request" is accurate and probably where the confusion came in.
- 12 noon flight tomorrow, call at 12 noon today and get any afternoon/evening flight TODAY.
- 12 noon flight tomorrow, call at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow and get any morning flight TOMORROW.
- 12 noon flight tomorrow, call at 11:59 a.m. tomorrow, and get any flight in the afternoon/evening TOMORROW.
It's actually a very generous window compared to other carriers. What's not generous about the policy is that they charge top tiers when everyone else does that for free (DL/NW even waive it for mid-tiers, and US waives it for all Elites).
