When I stayed here late last year as a Diamond, I forgot to change my "My Way" preference to an upgrade. The hotel was full enough that they would not let me fix my "My Way" status to get an upgrade, but I was given Executive Lounge access. I ended up in a non-upgraded room on the 6th floor, with a balcony overlooking Atlantis & the Burj al Arab (and the construction site next door, but the room was sufficiently soundproofed that no noise from the wrecking ball could be heard unless the balcony door was open). A friend, who booked via (Orbitz? Hotwire?), was put on a lower floor with a "seaside" view - I liked my view better.
