So what could he have been referring to? He explained as taking an earlier flight with a confirmed change or standing by if the flight was not available.
If this was a flight to EWR and there were IrrOps that day, they may have just been trying to put as many people on the early Newark flights as possible before the delays built up and people started misconnecting.
