In the grand scheme of things does it really matter? At 45,000 feet you are most likely only going to see the cloud tops and the cabin, assuming it is a day flight, is going to be well lit. If a night flight the blinds are going to be down so matters not!
Logically you are correct but instictively it feels bonding/closing, and i will avoid these rows on BA and AA 777s- really ppp.
