I have two separate reservations for the Westin Milan next week. The first one is the PLT 2008 gift and the second is a paid stay. I just looked at the reservations to see if I could get a lower rate and now see that my free night (my first night) is in a smoking room and my second night is a non-smoking room.

I would never have taken a smoking room and in my profile it says I request non-smoking rooms. I just called the PLT concierge and they were basically useless asking me why I wouldn't just take the smoking room?

So, should I shoot the hotel and email requesting that my rooms be non smoking without having to obsess for the next week as to the room I'm going to get or should I just call and try to get a new more helpful concierge?

I'm not in the mood to obsess, trust me, but every hotel is different.
