Load up the movies under a folder called "DVD's", and create shortcuts from each movie's ".TS" file onto the desktop (or a folder on the desktop). Because it's a shortcut, Windows Media player will open the file in the proper directory and find the matching data files.

I created shortcuts to the movies' VIDEO_TS.IFO files and they start up in WMP immediately. This is a simple, free way to do what I was looking for.
