I have 440k AA miles, but no current status. I'm trying to arrange travel from BOS to EDI from approx Aug 29 thru Sept 5 for my wife and my 10th wedding anniversary - we were married in Scotland in '99. Clearly, it would be nice to go in J for a special occasion, but it's Europe, high season. As one would expect, no joy:

- ExpertFlyer shows only AAnytime awards available on the BOS-LHR direct flight, as well as JFK-LHR. Ka-ching.
- I can't redeem AA miles on BA ex-US
- There are no other meaningful partner routings I can think of out of Boston - IB would let me go BOS-MAD-LHR-EDI, but apparently has no departures on Friday!

So what are my options?
- Call AA and see if by some miracle revenue management would release two saver biz-class slots when I need them (unlikely but marginally possible)
- See if I can book a BA award thru YYZ at the cost of approx 4 extra hours of flying time (2h BOS-YYZ, 2h flying back East), but probably a better experience

Have I missed anything? I'm certainly open to suggestions/help!
Call AA and check on releasing saver seats, especially if you are EXP

You might also want to check on flying to Canada, then BA from there.
