The NW flight from DTW to NGO continues on to MNL. We usually fly this route to/from BOS. Does anybody know if the NW flight from SFO to NRT continues on elsewhere? If so, is it usually overbooked in economy? The DTW to NGO/MNL flight often seems to be packed in economy and overbooked.
Mrs.TokyoKid, BabyTokyoKid, and I will be flying BOS-DTW-SFO-NRT-NGO for the first time in August. The aircraft, an A330, is a much more comfortable aircraft than the one operating out of DTW (747-400). I plan on getting seats in the first economy cabin since it has power ports (laptop for me and portable DVD player for BabyTokyoKid). Using WorldPerks Miles, our return flight from BOS has us arriving in SFO around 9:45pm. We plan on spending the night at a nearby airport hotel before departing the next day on a 1:35pm flight to NRT.
Any advice on child friendly hotels by the airport, seats on the A330 (I have checked Seat Guru and Seat Expert), flying out of SFO, travelling with an 18 month old who will most likely be walking on her own by then (i.e. things to see and do at SFO), etc., would be greatly appreciated. This will be BabyTokyoKid's third round trip transPacific flight so we're becoming quite experienced.
