LGA approach patterns
Last night I noticed a lot of planes flying very low in a northeasterly direction over the Lower East Side, which is pretty unusual. They seemed to be on approach to LGA.
I can't think of any LGA-bound flights I've been on that crossed over lower Manhattan. Most flights either fly north through Brooklyn and Queens or fly up one of the rivers parallel to Manhattan before turning to land at LGA.
Anybody know why it was different last night?
