Sounds to me like there was either some local regulation that the supervisor was enforcing, he goofed and forbid a legal device, or we dont have the whole story.

If it is not a national basis, then there is no basis. FSD's do not have the authority to locally decide to prohibit items that are permitted elsewhere.

Roy2CDG, please file a complaint to have this addressed.
