I would take VS over any US carrier for a trans atlantic. The seat pitch is slightly less, but still acceptable.

Food is much better than all US carriers I've been on, Entertainment is the best of any airline I've been on, and the service always comes with a smile. Even in coach (where on US carriers you tend to get treated like cargo), if you ask for something that is out of the ordinary they will go out of their way to try to do it for you.
