I was wondering when is the very last minute you can board before you get unloaded?
For instance 720am depart, 700am gate closing, boarding at 645am. Boarding didn't start till 705am.
Those extra 20min in the lounge could of been another bacon roll and more booze.....
Gate open simply means that BA know the departure gate and is just a way of letting you know where it will board from. If you are in the lounge I would suggest you leave the lounge when "Boarding" is written in green.
