I am convinced that many people are arithmetic-challenged. Just go to a store, buy something that costs $1.53. Hand them a $5 bill. After they punch "amount tendered $5" into the register, hand them 3 cents. At least half the cashiers can not figure out the correct change - seriously. Quite sad.
