For some routes like SFO-LHR yes the new structure is more $$
In this case example SFO-Athens for around $1000 in S
The other way is to but SFO-FRA for $1800 and have to purchase inter-europe on LH on seperate ticket usually $300-$400 since you cant really combine H on the transatlatic then a cheapo inter-europe segment
Since I do alot of trips to places like Spain and Italy where I need to fly SFO-FRA on UA and connect to LH or other *airline this new co-pay is a little better
