I'm sorry that William beat me to a response - I just saw the thread revived and reading Life_Platinum's post really had me thinking "I wasn't treated that badly". But as William points out, I never really came back to state that.
No, I wasn't moved to the Four Seasons, but I was relocated and, in fairness, it was something like 8 months ahead of my stay. My initial reaction was probably more to do with the complete disappointment in the fact I'd never get to stay in that fine hotel under the SPG umbrella. I'd long been looking forward to it. It also took a bit longer to sort out than I'd hoped. But sorted it was.
And I still think it's a shame. But I also understand business enough to know that if SPG couldn't retain them, there was probably a larger issue at hand than Starwood not caring. And contracts are contracts.
As well, William correctly points out that the issue was resolved amicably - and he did indeed give me the grand tour of Austin when I was in town last year.... Grand might actually be an understatement ;-)
