VIRGIN ATLANTIC: Dude You're Getting a DELL - and a "Dime Bag"!
Hello Virgin Atlantic! Source AP (Associated Press):
DELL "Steven" Arrested on Drug Charges (02/11/2003)
The actor who gained fame as the slacker 'Steven" in commercials for Dell Computers was arrested buying a small bag of marijuana, police said. Benjamin Curtis, 22, a New York University drama student, whose expression "Dude You're Gettin' a Dell" was arraigned on a misdemeanor drug possession charge. The charge assumes a suspect is not carrying more than a "use amount" - enough to roll several marijuana cigarettes. Police said he was arrested Sunday Night on the Lower Side after officers on a drug detail spotted him buying a small bag of marijuana. At the arraignment, Criminal Court Judge Ellen Coin advised Curtis that his case will be dismissed, and his record expunged, if he avoids arrest during the next year.
Comments: Given the fact United States marijuana laws are draconian, both Federally and via State (with hidden agendas by politicians who created them and enforce them), I think that someone like Mr. Curtis, as an art student with the HUGE amount of $$ stashed in the bank from all those Dell commercials, print ads and Internet ad revenue, should have simply done a weekend MR (mile run) to The Netherlands and got high, that way. Even if the US laws are draconian, he still had the freedom to use his brain and could smoke it outside of the jurisdiction. Why risk everything in an enforcement zone (like the Bush daughters getting counsiling for drinking above the age of 18, when it was legal for them to just fly to another border and get blasted, come home and say "Hi Daddy")! People are so stupid, sometimes.
