My problem has been solved by a wonderful customer service representative, who put me in first class on the same flight as my wife and my mother. That would be excellent in itself, but I hadn't even asked her to do that; I had asked her for a coach seat on another flight! I'm going to write her a commendation letter; I hope it does her some good.
