Just home today from NZ holiday of 2 nights each in CP Christchurch, IC Wellington and CP Auckland.

Booked cheapest room for Christchurch and Auckland ($NZ119) as Platinum got upgraded to room with better view (but not club room). In Christchurch it was from City view to Park view and in Auckland to higher floor and view across city to Domain and Harbour. In Auckland there was a sign at reception offering upgrade to Club for $NZ80 which I didn't take up.

As Ambassador got upgraded in Wellington from Superior room ($NZ199) to Club room. So got free in room internet (cost $33 per 24 hours in Christchurch and Auckland), continental breakfast, afternoon tea (scones with jam and cream, smoked salmon sandwiches etc) and pre-dinner drinks and canapes in club overlooking harbour. I liked the fact that it was help yourself to canapes - the week before in IC Melbourne they were very nice but rationed to one small serve per person.

Also as Ambassador at IC Wellington got welcome fruit, water and gift (attractive small glass ornament - Koru shape) free movie and 4pm checkout. Now if I can just get a client in Wellington I will happily move in there for a while.
