I am going to be moving to DC in August, and for 4 months I am going to need a car one day a week to drive to Lancaster, PA. I am trying to figure out what it is going to cost, as I am weighing the options of renting once a week or out right buying a car.

I am 22 so I know the major rental companies will want to charge me come crazy under age fee. I have ZipCar, but don't really consider it a good option because i would be driving more then 180 miles. I would consider a rent-a-wreck or other independent rental company. My main concern is reliability both in the car itself and in that it will be there for me.

I am 5' 8" and won't be taking luggage so I don't need anything big of fancy.

Does anyone know of a rental company that will give me a special rate for something like this?

I should note it will be a weekday rental, probably Tuesdays.
