Many people sleep poorly in an unfamiliar bed. By your absurd logic it would be impossible to drive safely from west London to Southampton after going to bed at midnight in a hotel and getting up at 6am.

Many people sleep well on TATL flights. Many people are wide awake for several hours after a TATL flight even if they didn't sleep well. Many people can get into a car and drive "on the wrong side of the road" easily and safely (and as it's motorway all the way from LHR to SOU except the first and last ~500 yards, driving "on the wrong side of the road" barely comes into it).

To the OP - there are lots of people in the UK who will try to boss you around, and tell you this or that perfectly safe activity is dangerous or irresponsible. It's one reason why I left. It's got worse since I left. Best to politely thank them for their advice and ignore them.
