Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case.
Assuming the (long-awaited) technology comes on line soon, it will likely be introduced progressively around the world (at significant cost, and over a long period of time).
What is more likely is that the ban will go from certain airports, but remain at others, and the "will they or won't they" questions associated with that could plague us for years to come.
