Just some wisdom for fellow flyers hopping around inside India. Don't let the reps tell you it takes 24 hours to confirm legs on Kingfisher - it can be done instantly, though most of the reps I've talked to don't know that.

I made a change to a ticket recently: SFO-EWR-BOM-BLR-BOM-EWR-SFO. BOM-BLR-BOM is on Kingfisher. I called in, asked to change the reservation to another date, and the rep put me on hold for 20 minutes and came back saying there'd be a $250 change fee, a $550 increase in fare, and it would take 24 hours to confirm the Kingfisher leg. Since I had already made one change and the rep that time had thought it would take 24 hours to confirm and then "discovered" that Kingfisher can be instantly confirmed, I thought it was odd. Also, I didn't buy that there was a $550 fare increase, because I had just priced it out online and it was about the same price. So I hang up, call again 10 minutes later, get another rep who this time tells me that there is a $20 fare increase and that it will take 24 hours to confirm, and it's unclear if the fare will increase by more than $20. I asked her if she is sure about the 24 hours, and she said absolutely. Hang up again, call in again, get another rep who also has the $20 fare increase and confirms that the change can be confirmed instantly. Book it, and I'm good to go.

So don't let them tool you around and have fun flying around India!
