We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne in November 2001. I have rather mixed feelings about this hotel. We booked an Executive oceanfront suite for three people which included lounge, two bedrooms, full kitchen and three patios. Amazingly this lot cost less that a deluxe room at Four Seasons.
Good points
Location
Everything new (opened Aug-01 )
Quality of fittings in the suite
Pools and spa very nice
Price compared to equivelant Four Seasons suite
Bad points
Housekeeping not quite up to the task ( made suite up at 4.30pm on two days )
Restaurants not very good and quite expensive
Food in club lounge not very good
Perception that the resort is understaffed
We have also stayed at the Sheraton Bal Harbour which is also a very nice hotel. In my experience the only large well known hotel to steer clear of is the Fontainbleu Hilton. We stayed here way back and I gather from the reviews of this hotel that nothing has changed. The pool area is very nice but the hotel itself has a lot of very old rooms that need a refurb and it is extremely understaffed.
Best look at the Fodor.com website where you can see hotel reviews posted by myself and others.
