For the better part of this decade, BA lounge staff at LHR had been asking many AA Plats and EXPs flying BA in coach for their AA Plat or EXP card when trying to enter the Terraces or First lounges there.

It's only rather more recently that BA seems to be more generally satisfied with the printed notation of Sapphire or Emerald status on the BA boarding passes of their coach passengers with AA-issued OW Sapphire or Emerald status.
