I love 9a, it does have extra leg room, never felt the need to recline as only ever a hop across to BRU. Logically I would have thought that row 8 would not recline so that the space is not compromised? But not sure on that as never say in 8.
So yes my experience is that it has more room, of course you need to stick your stuff in the locker.
