VS LHR Clubhouse-Here I Come!!
Hello to everyone,
I am a FC Silver and have just receivedmy Amex Platinum card which entitles me to access the VS lounge when flying with VS.
I am going to Boston for New Year( flying on the 14:30 VS11 on the 29th staying at the Back Bay Hilton for 3 nights then flying back on the VS12) I booked throgh the Platinum Travel Service and fly from EDI on the 0915 BA flight getting in at 1040 ( 3hrs 50 wait at LHR-More time in the lounge!!)with a note saying that the minimum connecting time advised by BA was 2hours- there is an 1115 flight arriving at 1240)
From what I've heard on the forum the clubhouses are very good and this will be my first time ( apart from a couple of Bmi lounges flying LHR-EDI this year which got me FC silver)so I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm travelling Economy (48k/54k) so on my return flight i'll try the £199 PE upgrade at BOS (it will be 1st Jan so maybe/maybe not)-Thanks for that advice Richard.- I might even try the Salon services?
I'll probably not be able to try that for LHR-BOS as hopefully my bags will be checked through by BA from EDI.
I've got to go now and fill in my Platinum forms for Hilton HHonors gold- for a room upgrades and more points to convert to FC miles and Priority pass for my trip to Berlin for christmas shopping in early December.( Living in Scotland it is almost more convenient to go with BA but much prefer Virign and with the new benefits it wins hands down (400 BA Exec points last year, no lounge access at EDI and the points dissapeared while only halfway up the blue ladder.)
Alrady planning my late winter trip- with VS IAD or SFO depending on the fare!!
Enjoy your flights!!!
