I was doing a search on clubhouse check-in (see my next thread!) and noticed Richard's comment at the end of this.......

As far as I'm aware with Amex Plat you only get travel insurance coverage if you book the travel using the amex platinum card - use another card and you're not covered. It mentions it in the platinum handbook.

If you want to discuss more, maybe worth opening a thread on the amex board.......
