Feel free to add to my ponderances.
In my experience, this is not your imagination at all.

Americans appear to be the most demanding, the most rude, and invented the DYKWIA attitude. They also seem to demand things they are not entitled to, and treat others rudely at first sight. To make matters worse, when the screw up, and its politely pointed out that they made a mistake, they lye and blame others rather than admit to it.

The sad thing is, I am an American, and am incredibly embarrassed when I travel internationally as I see these type of actions and can only think others assume that I am the same way.

It is a shame how people form my country act. I know I may get flamed for this post, but hopefully not. The American's on FT are generally not the "Rude" Americans. IME its the casual travelers who are like this more than the FFs.

So maybe the FAs, at least in the States, are getting ruder, because of the PAX they have to deal with.
