Does anyone know if I could use my united mileages to upgrade the Asiana economy to business via code-share program?

Thanks in advance for your advice...
Star Alliance upgrades are rarely worth it.

You cannot upgrade on codeshares.@:-) In order to upgrade, you must book OZ flights with OZ number (no codeshares), then use UA miles to upgrade. Keeping in mind that only YB fares, which are pretty high, are upgradeable. A quick check on random dates shows lowest fare LAX-ICN-LAX at $969+ while the upgradeable fare is $3988+.
