Maybe OT, although was on QF31 (on a BA ticket though, hence hopefully ok for here!) in row 12 upstairs and the IFE went belly up...
FA tried to reset my individual IFE from the galley initially, didn't work so re-booted my entire seat from a sneaky panel in the seat casing... apparently each seat has a hard drive in, so simple to reset individually!
Great crew (London based crew from SIN-LHR, really good on both legs though) although not quite as good as BA15 on the way out... in 17E/F with the Mrs and 17E screen wouldn't stay opened, kept swinging back on its hinge... FA took one look, sighed, and in seconds had russled up a serviette and a drink-stirring-stick (is there a technical name?) from the galley and wedged the thing open perfectly (did mean it wouldn't tilt though - am I due compensation

)
In my mind it doesn't really matter whether it's a high tech or low tech fix, it's how the team take care of you on the flight that matters - both crews were ace ^
