I had a "rule 240" situation recently but I really don't think it would count in what you're looking for. DL put me on a NW flight CVG-MSP last month after I missed my connection at CVG due to a delayed EWR-CVG flight. Nevertheless, dispite DL still having other flights later in the day, they still put on the "other" (dispite DL's interest in NW) carrier.
