Forget the Clubhouse, unless your Platinum Card is UK issued. They look at the first few digits very carefully, and AMEX has specified that they will not pay VS for allowing non-UK members into the club.

But, the agents at the CO Presidents club are very friendly, and if your VS flight is also a CO codeshare (irrespective of which carrier your ticket is for), they will probably let you in with your Platinum card.
