Recent news reports here mention about an 8% drop in visitors recently. I know that weekend rates are still about the same as ever (might be slightly lower) but mid-week rates are FAR lower across the board. A few weeks ago I heard the Wynn was offering mid-week rates of $129 on rooms that normally cost $300.

So if you are on a budget, or just want to stay in the high-end resorts and save a few (well, actually, quite a few) bucks, try to time your stay from Sunday through Thursday.

Just had some German friends in town and they said the weekend was as busy as usual (they have come here every year for the past 10 years) but that mid-week was almost dead - no lines for anything.
