to select seats on AS Metal flight booked through a partner you need to call to get the AS confomation number. I got it by calling the MVP desk. You can call DL to get it as well. its usually available a few days after boking. Once you have that you can add it to my trips. You can then go in and select sests.
You will not be eligible for upgrades prior to departure. You can ask when you arrive at the airport
I'm in a similar situation with an upcoming NWA codeshare flight operated by AS (an aside: I wish the AS website had some low price guarantee, because it's often not the cheapest).
Is the only way to secure an upgrade to ask at the airport? I know you can't place yourself on the automatic 72/48 hour upgrade list, but if there is an open U seat at 24 hours, can I check in online and click the "upgrade now" link and upgrade myself like I usually would on an AS ticketed flight where my 48 hour upgrade didn't clear? Or, do I really have to do it at the airport? Has anyone had any luck calling the MVP desk to secure an upgrade within the 24 hour window? Thanks!
