I've noticed that AmEx is changing the fee to reinstate forfeited MR points from $15 to $29 per statement from 15 March. This prompted me to look into what I've forfeited and I was surprised by the volume of MR I've let go over the years.

Clearly some of the points are not worth reinstating at $15 a pop... and clearly some are worth the fee. But what is the rule of thumb here? Are 3,000 points too few to warrant the fee? 1,400?

Would like to hear how others measure this.
