My wife and I are breaking up our Munich > Budapest voyage (by train) with a 1-night stay in Vienna, in late May 2009. We'll take Railjet to Vienna Westbahnhof and stay the day/night.

I don't know Vienna and the reason we're only staying 1 night is because we'll already be visiting/staying in Munich, Budapest, and Krakow over a 12-day period. If we stay longer, we'll have to "sacrifice" days in these other cities. Our goal with Vienna is to see if we'd want to return for a future 4-night trip, and to break up what would be an otherwise 7-hour train trip. The Munich > Budapest 80-minute plane ride is too expensive (723 EU on LH) at this time and cheaper flights require a stopover and feel too annoying.

So I'd really appreciate a hotel suggestion for the night that's an easy walk (with luggage) from/to Westbahnhof, unless the area is not good/safe in which case an easy taxi ride. Preferably a hotel that's 250EU/night and under (really prefer a lot under)...

If you want to suggest a good restaurant & pastry cafe as bonus, that'd be super fun.
