I went to the right (since he did not mention RIO). My bag ended up being spit out in the claim in GRU, so had I stayed to the left, I think I would have been left without my luggage.
More perplexing is after clearing C&I I was not allowed to re-check in onto the GRU-GIG segment. Had to get transferred onto local TAM flight. FTers told me my original itinerary (booked through agency) was technically not legal
just sharing my exp. so much easier on CO when i just sat on the plane in GRU....
I remember your story - that was unfortunate. But this won't apply to someone flying UA IAD-GRU-GIG or ORD-GRU-GIG.
