On a serious note, Luxetravels' suggestion is a good idea, but I don't recommend this for weekends (Broadwater is very crowded on weekends - although it may be better now that the state of the economy may well be affecting people's ability to operate a boat).

Watch out for the speed limit which can be just 6kts - water police will fine you if you are found to be going over the limit by even a few knots.

If you hire anything other than a house boat to skipper yourself, you also need a boat licence - I don't know how it works for overseas visitors there.
