How good is the Hayman on Hamilton Island?

What about Palazzo Versace on the Gold coast?

I understand the weather would be ok in August in Hayman. Would it be too cold on the Gold coast for sun bathing, snorkeling?

In terms of beach, where can I find the best beach?
