If you are only getting the $60 waive, the Plat will cost you $80. For the you get EQMs (up to 10K annually after the first year). Plus the the Plat card does earn more RDMs as panjfj reported. How much more? Will depend on your spending habits -- has been 20% for my account.

So for 10K EQM and 15K RDMs (in my situation) plus the companion ticket (which I have been able to use), the extra $80 would be an easy decision for me.
