I don't think this is IRIS, I think this is the biometric passport reader.

They are currently being trialled at Stansted. All you do is scan your biometric passport on an IRIS style turnstile and after about a 5-10 second wait the barrier opens and it lets you in.

Much cheaper than IRIS and much more resiliant from an operational perspective.

IMHO IRIS is a dead duck and this is the way of the future.
