It doesn't ask you to change information, just fill in one field with your Hhilton number and then give your PIN.

I'm with flyinbob on this, I can't see any justification for requiring a PIN. If I was going to alter my mailing address or withdraw points or something, sure; but to sign up for a promo? I tried calling Hilton but I was on hold so long I finally gave up and posted here.
