It is not the only eating place at the A Gates.
The mobile lounge ride from A to C is very short. You can walk to the B gates from A. The RCCs at IAD are not always "packed to the gills".
Is C an old terminal in need of updating? Of course. But that is not a UA problem; it is a Dulles problem.
As much as some here complain about the A gates at Dulles, I can tell you never flew UAX before there were A gates. Believe me, the A terminal is light years better than the old gates and the J31/J41 aircraft.
