Are you sure? Wouldn't LH have to collect the same taxes AC would? You definitely wouldn't pay the $27 NA YQ Aeroplan charges, but I think all airlines have to pay the taxes, and AC isn't going to pay on LH's behalf.
Also, do you pay the same amount of miles on LH? AP has many destinations at 15k miles in North America, but to use *A it costs 25k. Plus, availability is much worse for *A. I would imagine LH has limited availability on AC flights.
