Last year I had to go from AC to JAL with a 1h40 minute connection. It required a change of terminals. They had a list of names of people who had close connection times. An attendant lead us to where to pick up boarding passes and to where the buses were. Had to pass through security, but didn't have to go through immigration. I had checked my bags through already if that makes a difference. Guess it was on the computer that I was coming from the other flight.

On the way back I had 2h50 minutes, there was nobody to lead the way and I needed to change terminals again. Got there in plenty of time.

AA and CX should both be in Terminal 2, so you should have no problems.
