My recollection was the high speed hydrofoil had a very early in the AM departure.....far too early in the morning for me.

I just got an email from Aegean Airlines. They are having a sale for as little as 4 euros each way between Athens and the islands (35 euros once taxes are added). That's cheaper than taking the ferry.
