About double the price of a LONEx and limited to the two airlines (and some of their codeshares) so purchasing additional segments in Europe or NA could get expensive.

The fare is still available ex NZ and is about AUD3000 in B and about AUD4200 in T or AUD4900 in W.
The B fare allows a lot more route options that the T/W fare, eg. via JNB or via SCL.
Like you say, the B fare is a great cost effective option for someone who uses AA as there primary frequent flyer account
