Thanks to the redoubtable Swanhunter I now know I won't be stranded! He pointed out I can use the CX Arrivals lounge at least if needed until TK check-in opens, which is a great comfort. But I am still very interested in the above answers/tips if anyone has any experience or advice, thanks.
