I think UA will be under a lot of pressure to match. I think this is actually really bad for US. One of the 2 reasons I fly US as a CP is that I get unlimited domestic upgrades. If I can get that as an EXP on AA or a 1K on UA (I already am the latter), the reasons for me to fly US really are less. As a Plat on AA last year, if I transfered some of my US flying to AA this year I would get unlimited upgrades. AA and UA both have a much better first class product than US. I am having to once again reevaluate who I fly.
