Pony up for E+, extra leg room is always worth it.
And like so may have already said, sign up for DEQM. I have been an AA PLT since early December and done 3 TATLs since, and great things have happened every single trip, to include 3 opups. (Perhaps it is a combination of Status w/ being military)

I'm in the military stationed in Okinawa and flying to the states for a visit with the family after a deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.
My ticket is a Q ticket so I can't afford to buy anymore miles to pay the 30,000 to try to upgrade and I don't have any systemwide upgrades of course.
Is it that big of a difference between E and E+? Would it be worth it for such a long flight? Not sure how much it would be anyway. Thanks much for your advice!
